Buyer questions

Am I buying a physical number plate?

No. You are buying the right to display this registration on a vehicle. Physical acrylic plates are made separately by a registered number plate supplier.

How is the registration transferred?

The registration is moved by the DVLA, either straight onto your vehicle or onto a V750/V778 certificate in your name. We guide you through each step.

Can I put it on a newer car?

Yes. A registration can't make a vehicle look newer than it is, but it can always go on a newer vehicle. Dateless plates can go on any age of vehicle.

Can I buy it as a gift?

Yes. You can name someone else as the nominee so the registration is issued in their name.
